Travertine Silver Porcelain Alfresco Pavers

Porcelain Pavers for Alfresco Areas

Porcelain has become the first choice for contemporary Perth alfresco areas, and it’s easy to understand why. Large-format porcelain tiles create a clean, sophisticated finish that performs exceptionally in Perth’s heat, requires almost no maintenance and holds its colour and surface for decades.

Unlike natural stone, porcelain is non-porous. It won’t stain from red wine, sunscreen or barbecue grease. It’s slip-rated for outdoor use, frost resistant, and available in formats up to 1200x600mm for that expansive, modern look that feels just as good underfoot as it looks in photos.

We stock a curated range of outdoor porcelain pavers suited to alfresco areas, pool surrounds and indoor-outdoor flows. For a clean, low-maintenance finish that still looks great ten years from now, porcelain is a very strong option.

Natural Stone Alfresco Paving in Perth

Natural Stone: The Classic Perth Alfresco

There’s a reason natural stone has been the paving of choice in Perth for generations. The tones, subtle textures and natural variation of a well-chosen stone paver give an alfresco area something that manufactured materials simply can’t replicate. No two pieces are exactly alike, and that’s the point.

We stock a range of natural stone pavers, each with its own character. Fellstyle is one of our best sellers, loved for its rustic texture and neutral tone that adapts to the classic Perth outdoor setting. Namera brings creamy, sandy hues and a dappled finish that works beautifully alongside a pool or garden. For warmer, earthier tones, Glenmoor and Camel Dust are popular choices, while Vintage Manor offers broader colour ranges with that same natural rolling texture.

Natural stone pavers are slip-resistant, durable and well suited to Perth’s climate. They do benefit from sealing to protect against staining, and they develop character over time in a way that porcelain simply can’t.

Alfresco Paving: Frequently Asked Questions

This is a personal choice. Porcelain and natural stone are excellent for different reasons. Porcelain gives you a contemporary, low-maintenance finish that’s hard to damage and easy to clean. Limestone gives you that warm, classic Perth look that ages well. The right choice comes down to your home’s style, and how much maintenance you’re willing to do.

Natural stone pavers benefit from sealing to protect against staining and moisture, particularly in an alfresco setting where food, oil and outdoor elements are in regular contact with the surface. Porcelain pavers are non-porous and do not require sealing. We can advise on the right sealing product for your chosen material.

Our alfresco paving is almost always installed using the wet lay method. Pavers are set in a mortar bed for a permanent, stable finish that won’t shift or settle over time. Dry lay on a compacted sand or gravel base suits certain areas, but it’s not the right method for a main entertaining surface. Read our full guide: Wet Lay vs Dry Lay Paving

Yes, and we’d recommend it. Using the same paver across your alfresco and pool surround creates a consistent outdoor finish that looks considered rather than pieced together.
