Tree Moving / Tree Transplanting
If you have large and mature trees on your property that need to be relocated, it’s important to hire a professional tree relocation service. Tree transplanting can be tricky, and if it’s not done correctly, it can damage or even kill the tree. At Country Earth, we have been providing tree transplanting services for many years and have an excellent record for successful tree relocating. We’ll work with you to find the best possible location for your tree and then take care of all the logistics involved in moving it there.
What is tree relocation and why would you need it?
Tree relocation is the process of moving a tree from one location to another. There are several reasons why you might need to relocate a tree, including:
- To make room for new construction
- To protect the tree from damage
- To prevent the tree from causing damage
- To improve the tree’s growth
- For added aesthetic and financial value
The process of transplanting a Large Tree
This can be fairly complex, and it’s important to hire a professional team like Country Earth to handle it. Unlike transplanting a smaller tree which can be done with a tree spade, larger specimens with trunk diameters over 2 inches (considered to be a large tree) will need heavy machinery to cut through strong roots and also lift the tree.
We have the experience and expertise to safely and effectively relocate your tree. The process for relocating a tree can be broken down into the following steps:
We’ll come to your property and assess the tree to determine if it can be safely relocated. This includes looking at the size of the tree, its root system, and the surrounding area. We will also assess the new location for any site constraints that may impair the transplant.
Once we’ve determined that the tree can be relocated, we’ll work with you to plan the best possible location for it. We’ll also develop a detailed plan for moving the tree, including how to transport it and what type of equipment will be needed.
This is where our team comes in! We’ll handle all of the logistics involved in transplanting the tree, from securing permits to facilitating access for excavation equipment to actually moving the tree.
We’ll begin the process of removing it from its current location once the new location hole has been excavated and prepared, ready to receive the tree.
We’ll start by excavating around the tree to expose the roots.
The length of roots to leave around the tree is critical and once determined, root cutting can be initiated.
We then cut through the roots, being careful not to damage the tree. Once the roots have been cut, we gently ease the tree from the ground and carefully relocate the tree to its new location.
**It’s critical that the tree must be facing the same direction at its new location, as placing the previously shaded side of the tree into the sun at its new location can shock the tree and seriously undermine the success of transplantation.

Past Projects: Case study of a recent, successful tree relocation
A tree movers reputation is connected to the quality of the services they provide and whether the transplanting procedure was a success or not. This is why we’re proud to share this case study of a recent, successful tree relocation that we completed in Perth. The client had a mature tree in their backyard that was starting to get too close to the property. They wanted to transplant the tree to another location on their property where it would have more space to grow. After assessing the tree and developing a plan, our team was able to successfully transplant the tree without any damage. The client was thrilled with the results and has since recommended us to their friends and family.
